Build a Workflow Chain

Chain several teams into an ordered pipeline that runs end-to-end, each step feeding the next.

A Workflow Chain is an ordered pipeline of several teams that you design once and launch on demand. Each step's output is passed to the next step as context, so a multi-stage process runs end-to-end from a single brief. (For a simple two-team event rule — “when this team finishes, auto-start another” — use auto-chaining on a team's tools page instead.)

Step 1: Create a chain

Go to Settings → Workflow Chains and create a new chain. Give it a clear name — for example Market entry pipeline.

Step 2: Add team steps in order

Add each team as a step and drag them into the order you want them to run. A common pipeline isMarket Analysis → Investor Pitch → Board Report. When the chain runs, the deliverable from each step is handed to the next team as its context, along with your original brief.

Step 3: Run the chain

Click Run on the chain. You brief the first team as you would for any run; when it completes, the next team starts automatically with the previous step's output, and so on through the last step. You don't need to be present between steps.

Step 4: Track progress

Open any run in the chain to see the progress strip — every step, its live status, and a link to each run. A step only starts once the previous one completes successfully; if a step fails, the chain stops there so you can fix and re-run.

Tip:Keep each team's mission focused. A chain works best when every step produces a clean, self-contained deliverable that the next team can build on — rather than one team trying to do everything.
