Build a team with AI

Describe the outcome you want and let Forge assemble the roles, in order, as a starting team.

You don't have to know which of the 100+ agent roles you need. Describe the outcome you want and Forge assembles a starting team for you — the right roles, already in a sensible running order — which you then adjust by hand before saving.

Step 1: Open the team builder

Go to Teams → Create team. The Build with AI panel sits at the top of the page, above the name and the agent picker.

Step 2: Describe the goal

Write what you want the team to produce, in a sentence or two (at least 12 characters). Outcomes work better than role lists — describe the deliverable, the audience, and any constraints:

Evaluate three shortlisted payroll vendors for a 200-person Nordic company
and produce a recommendation the CFO can sign off, covering cost, data
residency under GDPR, and migration effort.

Step 3: Review what it picked

Forge proposes a team name, an ordered set of roles, and a short rationale explaining the choice. Roles come from your live catalogue — built-in roles plus any custom agents your admins have added — and retired roles are never suggested. Your goal is also copied into the brief if you haven't written one yet.

Step 4: Adjust, then create

The proposal is a starting point, not a finished team. Add or remove roles, reorder them with the arrows, edit the name and mission, then create the team as usual. Once a brief is in place you can also run the team fit check to have the composition assessed against it.

Tip:If the result isn't close, rewrite the goal rather than fighting the role picker. Naming the deliverable (“a board-ready one-pager”, “a technical due-diligence report”) changes the assembled team far more than adding adjectives.
