Steer a run while it’s running

Send a directive to a live run and watch it fold into the next agents — no cancel, no restart.

You don't have to wait for a run to finish — or cancel and restart — to change its direction. While a run is live you can send it a directive that every following agent will obey.

Step 1: Open a live run

Start a run and open its page while it's in queued, starting, or running status. A Steer the team box appears at the top of the run.

Step 2: Send a directive

Type a short instruction — for example "focus on EU compliance" or "keep it under two pages" — and press Steer (or ⌘/Ctrl + Enter). Forge folds it into every agent that runs after it, at highest priority, and it stays in effect for the rest of the run.

Step 3: Watch it land

Your directive shows as queued until an agent picks it up, then applied. It also appears in the run timeline as a "You steered the team" event.

Tip:Steering shapes the agents that haven't run yet — it doesn't rewrite work already completed. Send your directive early for the biggest effect.
